Chicken Noodle Soup with hail

Today we are home relaxing after a fun "babymoon" trip to Carlsbad this Valentine's weekend. A babymoon is a little getaway trip before a little one arrives! We enjoyed walking on the beach, eating, reading, shopping, and generally relaxing as well as a fun lunch with C. and M. Unfortunately, i caught a cold (first pregnancy cold!) and am now recuperating between sneezes in front of the fire on this chilly, rainy day. We took Luna for her well-cat visit to the vet, and to get some advice on how to help her adjust to the new baby coming. When we pulled into the vet's parking lot, pea-sized hail started crackling down onto the windshield! It fell for several minutes so we waited in the car til it let up. Lu did fine. She weighs 12 pounds, 13 oz. and her temps, skin, fur and general check-up looked great! Of course, she was growling the whole time, but at least she had a spacious new carrier to curl up in! kitchen dreams

We are fairly happy with our kitchen. Though smallish, it is roomy enough for the two of us at once. We had to buy a fridge when we moved in, and we picked a stainless steel one with black trim, anticipating replacing the remaining white appliances at some point. We picked red as an accent color, using red rugs and a fancy red garbage can, which I love every time I use it. The one thing we don't like is the white tile countertops; the grout just gets nasty and is hard to clean. Second would be the sink. So, if and when we redo anything in there, I would vote for this farm sink, only in red:



and maybe instead of granite countertops we could do this one, vetrazzo, which is 85% recycled glass:

I like the charisma blue and alehouse amber color schemes...
