I live for Saturday mornings!

Right now, laundry is washing and drying, O. is watching Dora and Barney on Netflix on my laptop next to me, Daddy and Laney are napping, and the weekend lies ahead of us. Playing catchup with housework, laundry, tidying, meal planning and food shopping, playing with the kids, and skyping with Gramp are the plans today. celebrating Grandma's birthday with breakfast tomorrow and maybe a stop at the farmer's market are tomorrow's only plans. Fall is upon us (finally!) I just hope the weather catches up to the calendar. After 5 years in CA, I am enjoying the cooler weather. I cut my hair short yesterday, it feels great. A nice shift for a new season. What are your weekend/fall plans?

Victoria's 3rd Birthday

Vicky is a little girl in Owen's Music Together class. He was invited to her Royal birthday the day before his birthday. She was turning 3. Momma had a little freak out in the car before going in because she flipped the invite over and the back said, "wear your royal attire" or something to that effect. Luckily, as daddy predicted (and grandma, who I called at the moment to calm me down), only the girls wore their best princess garb. The boys were dressed just like Owen.

Almost Fall weekends

Finally, a "non-catch up" post. We have had two lovely and restful weekends in a row. Last weekend, we relaxed and hung around. I took the kids to the park to meet up with friends Saturday afternoon, and we went to my parents to celebrate Dad's 67th birthday on Sunday afternoon. This weekend dad rode with us out to Oak Glen (about 110 miles southeast) to go apple picking. I was really hoping for some Macs, but we ended up with 3 bags of Glen Seedlings. O had a ball. After picking, we drove over to Apple Annie's for lunch with Carmen, Jesse, and Camilla Rose, who live in Yucaipa (about 10 min. away). We drove home and had baked potato supper (chili topping for daddy, cottage cheese for O. and me), then bath night and we all slept like rocks. This morning I drove O. over to play with Grandpa while I took mom to The Tea Room for a birthday brunch. (Yum!) and then discount day shopping at Dress on a Dime consignment. We got back around 1 and Owen slept for THREE HOURS! When he got up I dressed him in a fallish outfit of a ball themed thermal long-sleeved top and cozy gray sweatpants to watch the tail end of the Pats game with daddy. Now they are making apple crisp in the kitchen and we will have turkey meatloaf from Trader Joe's for supper, along with green beans, rolls, and of course apple crisp for dessert. Laney played with daddy most of the day and is now wearing a fall-ish long sleeved brown, pink, and blue striped dress over pink leggings. She is crawling up on all fours and sooo fun and busy! Hope we are ready for another week! O is so logical about cause and effect these days too.

Visiting Rourke and Will - June 5, 2011

The first weekend in June we went to visit our friends in Mission Viejo. The two year olds had a grand time, the 4 month old enjoyed looking about, and the 2 month old mostly slept, happily and oh so cute. On the way home we stopped for supper in Irvine and saw the ferris wheel.

Alice's First Birthday- Circus Theme (May 28, 2011)

Over Memorial Day weekend we had the opportunity to go to Alice's first birthday celebration in Burbank. It was such a sweet party for a sweet girl, and we all had a blast! Alice's daddy Jon works with Derek, and her momma Erin works at Disney Studios.
