Only one more month of being one! Unbelievable to us. Here is a little update on you:
*You are becoming more and more independent "Owen do it. Owen get it. etc."
*You love buses and trucks. You took your first city bus ride a couple of weeks ago and loved it.
*You recognize places around town. Last night we passed the studio where you take Music Together class on the way to the park and you got so excited and started yelling "music class! music class!"
*You ask us to write down names of family members and you scribble on paper and say "owen's name. Laney's name, momma's name, etc."
*You love to fill us all up with "gas", usually around our belly buttons. You will sit and play by yourself for 15-20 minutes with cars, trucks, tractors and fill them all up with gas too.
*You love your little sister and can't wait to see her in the morning. You talk in a sweet voice to her, read her books, sing to her "twinkle twinkle", help get her diapers, pacis, and burp cloths, and generally love on her a lot. That's probably why she came down with her second cold this week. (you didn't catch a cold til 6 months old)
*This past weekend was the first instance of "jealousy" with you sister where you didn't want to share a toy (a baby rattle you hadn't touched in over a year!) Daddy and I had to keep from laughing you were so cute posturing with your arms crossed and your eyebrows furrowed. We took turns with the rattle and boy did you shake it furiously when it was your turn! :)
*You can still squeeze into 18 months pants but are in 24 mo or 2 T tops. You wear a size 6 shoe and a size 4 diaper. This past weekend you sat on the potty once or twice. We will probably start potty training in July or August. maybe.
*You love fruit of any kind and most veggies (peas, broccoli, green beans) but don't really like orange veggies (carrot, sweet potato, butternut squash) but we'll keep trying. For protein you like eggs, chicken, hamburger, yogurt and cottage cheese.
We love you so much and it is so fun playing with you and watching you love on your sister! Can't believe you're almost 2!
