I was teaching first grade in Homestead, FL and living in South Miami in a 565 sq. ft. efficiency

Things on my to-do list today?
meditate (check), stretch (check), breathe (check), blog (check), teach!, organize classroom, library visit, write

What would I do if I were suddenly made a billionaire?
not sure! options:
keep the status quo and have a big bank balance/make lots of donations
be a stay at home mommy and political activist
build dream pre-fab eco house (think dwell mag) and/or post modern victorian somewhere w/o earthquakes or fires

Three of my bad habits?
saying "what if..."
saying "is that allowed?"
draping my clothes over the cupboard door

Five jobs I've had?
1-hostess/salad girl/buffet girl at a hometown family restaurant (never waitressed, though...I think that's a tough gig! kudos to all who do/did!)
2- summer nanny (girl age 9 and boy age 13) I don't recommend this. The teenage boy was fine but the pre-pubescent girl was something else!
3- kids yoga instructor (had a kids yoga business for a couple years; considering a renaissance)
4-early childhood teacher (doing this now!)
5-event worker at the Homestead Miami Speedway (this was just a one day thing, but super fun! I ran a tent booth with a race movie sequence where I stepped on a pedal during a crucial crash and water sprayed all over the audience!)

Five things people don't know about me?
1-If I wasn't a teacher I would probably be a children's librarian.

2-My top career choices as a 17-19 year old were: hotel management, diplomat, physical therapist

3- Though I am not a known risk-taker, I chipped a tooth kneeboarding at age 30 (that's what I get for challenging my boundaries)

4-I've flown in the cockpit of a commercial airliner before (1991)*

5-I tried to fly with a ticket in someone else's name and got busted (1995)* (keep in mind that this was for the return trip, that I was successful for the first leg of the trip, and that the reason I got busted was the nametag on my carry-on which obviously didn't say "Tim" anything. There was no id checking way back then!) Hey, I was young.

*both of these events occurred way back in the good old days of the airline industry, when they fed you.
